Jewelry (All Levels)

  • 1395 Lexington Avenue New York, NY 10128 (map)

Learn the foundations of jewelry making or enhance your existing skills in soldering, forming, polishing, texturing and stone-setting techniques.

Beginners will start by making a sterling silver ring set with a gemstone. Then create pieces of your own design with individual assistance from the instructor. More advanced students work on either jewelry of their choice or an assigned project, which may include techniques such as: gypsy setting, hollow construction, chain making, bails and other terminations, prong setting, reticulation and more. The course will also include many demonstrations of jewelry fabrication, as well as fun low-tech casting techniques. Previous jewelry making experience is not required.
