Internship / Artist Assistant: EatMetal Art Jewelry
Location: Hoboken, NJ (Monroe Business Center)
Type: Part-time (includes weekends and evenings)
About the Role
Elizabeth Tokoly—artisan jeweler, metalsmith, and educator—is seeking a motivated Intern/Artist Assistant to join her studio. This is a comprehensive, hands-on role where you will learn the inner workings of a professional jewelry gallery and studio. Beyond administrative and studio support, you will be trained to co-teach basic jewelry workshops.
The Experience (What You’ll Do)
Studio Management: Prep jewelry pieces, organize the studio, and manage opening/closing procedures.
Business Operations: Catalog merchandise, oversee vendors, and handle essential administrative tasks.
Marketing & Outreach: Promote upcoming workshops, contact galleries, and manage social media/email campaigns.
Teaching: Receive training to lead basic jewelry-making workshops.
Qualifications
Traits: You are a self-starter, highly organized, and have a genuine passion for craftsmanship.
Bonus Skills: We will train the right person, but experience with the following is a plus:
Bench Work: Basic metalsmithing knowledge.
Digital: Mac, Squarespace, MailChimp, and Social Media.
Creative: Photography and PowerPoint.

EatMetal Art Jewelry Gallery and Studio | Hoboken, NJ
EatMetal, Inc. is expanding our educational programming. We are seeking talented, passionate instructors to lead adult workshops and intensives, in our fully equipped Hoboken studio. We pride ourselves on a high-quality, intimate learning environment with a maximum of 6 students per session.
Teaching Opportunities
We are looking for Lead Instructors to facilitate ongoing courses or 1–5 day intensives. We are particularly interested in:
Core Techniques: Fabrication, Hollow Form, Forging, Silversmithing, and Chain Making.
Specialties: Stone Setting (All levels) and Wax Carving.
Guest Proposals: We welcome unique curriculum ideas beyond these categories.
